ITV has released first-look photos of this year’s Royal Variety Performance 2024, ahead of its broadcast tonight on ITV.
Hosted by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, this year’s Royal Variety Performance took place on Friday 22 November 2024 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, attended by His Majesty The King. It was first time that the King has attended as patron of the Royal Variety Charity.
The Royal Variety Performance will air on ITV1 and ITVX tonight, Sunday 15 December at 8pm.

Photos: The Royal Variety Performance 2024
The Royal Variety Performance is the world’s longest-running entertainment show, and money raised from the night is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, helping people from the world of entertainment in need of care and assistance.
This year’s spectacular show sees Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas take up her prize and perform at the Royal Albert Hall, accompanied by Dave Arch and The Royal Variety orchestra.

The event also features a wealth of West End shows, including Elton John and David Furnish introducing a number from Elton’s brand new West End musical The Devil Wears Prada, featuring Vanessa Williams and the cast.
Other musicals performing on the night include Cameron Mackintosh’s much-anticipated revival of Lionel Bart’s musical Oliver!, coming to the Gielgud Theatre next month starring Simon Lipkin as Fagin and Shanay Holmes as Nancy.
There is also a spectacular performance from the company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s immersive production of Starlight Express, now playing at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London.
Other theatrical highlights include Cirque du Soleil (Cirque du Soleil – Corteo), performing a world exclusive from their Vegas show Ovo to celebrate their 40th anniversary; and English National Ballet performing ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ from their Christmas production of Nutcracker, which is coming to the London Coliseum next month.
The team behind the smash-hit West End show The Play That Goes Wrong also debuted a sneak preview of their hilarious new West End show The Comedy About Spies, which comes to London next year.

West End star Marisha Wallace () performs a show-stopping number from hit musical Dreamgirls, and leads this year’s National Anthem accompanied by the Fanfare Trumpeters of the Band of the Welsh Guards.
Other music acts performing this year include Eurovision winner Nemo, Brit Award-winner James Bay and disco diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor, performs her latest hit and ‘Murder on The Dance Floor’!
In terms of magic, American magicians and comedy duo Penn and Teller flew in to London for the show to celebrate their 50th anniversary, ahead of a big UK tour next year; and presenter and magician Stephen Mulhern performs some incredible illusions.

Stand up comedy this year is provided by Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), political comic Matt Forde with a review of the year, writer and comic Scott Bennett, and award-winning Scottish comedian Larry Dean.
TV daytime host Lorraine Kelly also makes a special appearance with her Change and Check Choir, comprising of women from across the UK who detected their breast cancer through Lorraine’s trail-blazing campaign. The choir is led by Marti Pellow performing ‘Love Is All Around’. The single is also being re-released to celebrate its 30th anniversary and to raise awareness of breast cancer early detection.
Host Alan Carr said in a statement: “I am completely thrilled to be asked back to host the Royal Variety Performance so soon, what a compliment and an honour! To be able to host this magical evening with my best friend and tv wife Amanda Holden is the icing on the cake for me. If I have half as much fun as I did three years ago, well we are all in for a real treat.”
Amanda Holden said: “It truly is such an honour to be hosting the Royal Variety Performance this year. I’m still pinching myself! This is a dream job and Alan is a true friend, we are already bursting with ideas and excitement, it’s going to be such a fun night! I’ve worked on Britain’s Got Talent for 18 years and have been so proud watching all our winners perform for the Royal Family. This year will be no different, so in the words of Sydnie Christmas, let’s av it!”
